HRIS Community

On 4th and 5th of June 2009 a high-quality expert conference on HRIS took place at the Allianz Management Institute at Lake Starnberg.

Responsible representatives from the HR and IT functions of ACS, Allianz, Audi, BMW, CWS-boco, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Lufthansa, E-ON Energy, Metro Group, Philips, SAP and Siemens discussed current trends and best practices regarding the global alignment of their HRIT systems. The conference was presented and organized by Baumgartner & Partner.

The HRIS conference has been considered as a very valuable input for discussions on further development of HRIT systems within the participating companies and is now established as an on-going community exchange organized and presented by Baumgartner & Partner.

Participants gain the opportunity to participate in the on-going community exchange and become a member of the HRIS community.

Target group and participants
The HRIS is organized in the form of an expert exchange and aims at representatives in charge of the HR and/or IT function of multinational companies. The number of participants is limited to 20 companies in order to ensure a high quality content-based expert exchange.

Conference cycle and content
The HRIS community meets twice a year for one and a half days. Each meeting is focused on one particular HRIS topic. The first meeting took place in June 2009. Comprehensive management issues are discussed before immerging into specific topics of expertise. The language of the HRIS community is German and English, slides can be presented in German or in English depending on the circle of participants.

Baumgartner & Partner has established an internet portal for the on-going exchange in addition to the conferences where the community members may exchange presentations, or find participant profiles and other useful documents.

Organization and presentation
Baumgartner & Partner facilitates, organizes and presents the HRIS community. Baumgartner & Partner develops a content framework together with the participants of the community, chooses focus topics, sets date and place of the HRIS community meetings, coordinates the communication with the participants and sends out invitations.

For every 1, 5 day conference Baumgartner & Partner will in advance encourage and solicite companies to present on pre-defined focus topics (“call for papers”).
The community meetings are taking place alternately in the facilities of participating companies:

  • Spring 2010 at ACS (Barcelona)
  • Fall 2010 at Deutsche Lufthansa (Frankfurt)
